When I was three years old, my family started the Håfa Adai Cultural Dance Troupe. My ancestral lineage on my dad’s side (Matao/CHamoru) stopped practicing our traditional dances about 300 years ago as we made tough decisions about how to survive colonizing and attempted genocide."
